Shut the door to the oven once it's empty. Hotpoint reserves the right to change materials and specifications without notice. If your oven door has a lock latch, slide the latch into the lock position. Some will have a knob which you will turn to "Clean." Others will have a touchpad with a button labelled "Self Clean." If your oven has a touchpad, you will need to set the amount of time you want the cycle to run. Average clean time is 4 hours and 20 minutes however, the cleaning time ranges from three to five hours for touchpad ovens. Choose the appropriate time based on how soiled the oven is. If your oven has a knob, you will not be able to adjust the time. It will automatically run for 4 hours and 20 minutes.
